As late summer draws to a close, the forest floor becomes damp, and the leaves begin to change color, the mushrooms emerge. This little family of brown mushrooms has captured that very atmosphere.
A charming paper craft with warm, earthy shades and a simple, hand-painted expression that is perfect for autumn. The mushrooms can stand alone as a small decoration or be combined with pinecones, branches, moss, dried leaves, and other finds from nature.
A little piece of the autumn forest
Cut out the mushrooms and let the little family move in on a shelf, on the windowsill, or on an autumn-themed table.
The brown colors make them easy to combine with autumn's natural materials. For example, place them between a few pinecones and dried leaves, or let them peek out from among your houseplants as a little surprise.
And when autumn slowly turns into winter, the mushrooms don't necessarily have to be packed away. They fit just as beautifully among spruce, pinecones, and more natural Christmas decorations.
Hand-painted Danish paper craft
The paper craft is designed by Tall Hat Tales and has a charming, hand-painted look, where the variations in shape and size make the mushrooms look like a little family.
The motif is simple and nature-inspired, making it especially well-suited for a home where the colors and materials of the seasons are allowed to be a part of the decor.
Autumn is mushroom season
Although mushrooms can be found year-round, it is autumn that we particularly associate with them. When the soil is still warm after summer, while the rain and moisture return, many mushrooms have ideal conditions to form their fruiting bodies.
Suddenly, they appear among withered leaves, on the forest floor, on old tree trunks, and along the paths – some small and discreet, others colorful and almost fairy-tale-like.
That is also something special about autumn. Nature is heading toward its winter rest, but at the same time, the forest floor is teeming with mushrooms and new life.
The little mushroom family is a cozy way to bring a bit of that autumn atmosphere indoors.
