- These are small plants, approximately 6-7 cm tall

Heliamphora minor is, as the name suggests, one of the smaller species. It is also one of the easiest species to keep.

Heliamphora plants are a small group of carnivorous plants that are endemic to South America (meaning they are only found there). There are only about 24 different species, but it is believed that there are still quite a few undiscovered species. One often finds one or more species each time one visits the inaccessible and unexplored Tepui mountains. The Tepui mountains are isolated mountains with a plateau on top, which often hide a true wealth of diversity.

Heliamphora plants can resemble Sarracenia plants somewhat with their funnels, and they are indeed closely related. However, Heliamphora remain significantly smaller, their traps are more primitive in appearance, and the flowers are completely different.

NOTE: Does not tolerate being too hot or too cold. At the same time, it likes plenty of light. Therefore, an obvious terrarium plant.

TIP: Heliamphora plants like to have their funnels filled with water now and then. They have a small valve in the funnels that ensures there is always the right water level down in the funnel.

- REMEMBER the right soil: Thrives best in pure sphagnum mixed with a little bit of perlite.
