Pothos (Epipremnum pinnatum)

Golden pothos (Epipremnum pinnatum) is another easy and popular terrarium plant. It is best suited for larger terrariums, however, as it grows quite large. It actually belongs to the Arum family, like many other popular houseplants.

The golden pothos is a vigorous climbing plant that forms large aerial roots, which it also uses to attach itself when climbing. The leaves are oval to heart-shaped and come in a myriad of varieties. This particular one is a green variant with yellow/golden markings.

It tolerates a wide range of conditions and can thus be grown both as a houseplant and as a climbing plant in both dry and wet terrariums. For example, we have our free-ranging chameleon on a birch trunk that has been "taken over" by a golden pothos.
