- Latin name: Nepenthes sanguinea Hybrid

- English names: Pitcher plant, monkey cup
Nepenthes sanguinea Hybrid is a beautiful plant bred from Nepenthes sanguinea. Hybrid plants are generally very robust and easy to care for, and this Nepenthes is no exception. The plant has a beautiful red color in both leaves and pitchers, and it is particularly distinguished by being robust and incredibly easy to care for. It is therefore an excellent beginner plant that can be kept as a houseplant. We recommend placing it in a hanging pot in a spot where it receives a few hours of sunlight each day. A couple of weekly mistings with a plant mister will also be beneficial.
Pitcher plants do not need to be kept as wet as many other carnivorous plants. However, the soil should never dry out completely. As with other carnivorous plants, pitcher plants do not like lime in the water. Therefore, use rainwater or demineralized water. It can be a good idea to spray them with water using a mister a couple of times a week.
NOTE: During the winter, the plant may stop producing new pitchers. This is a natural reaction to less light and lower humidity. In the spring, it will start forming pitchers again.
- REMEMBER the right soil: Carnivorous plant soil.
