Passiflora maliformis is a fast-growing passion flower plant under the right conditions. Like many other passion flowers, it requires plenty of light and warmth, especially if you want it to bloom and set fruit.

The fruits are green or yellow and are said to have a very fine flavor. However, the shell can be so hard that you might need a hammer to open them!

- Produces edible fruit

Germination of seeds

Pour lukewarm water over the seeds and then let them soak for 24 - 48 hours. Then sow the seeds in moist seed compost or cactus soil. Alternatively, place the seeds between damp paper towels, which are then placed in a sealed bag. Place in a bright and warm spot.

Passion fruit seeds can generally take a long time to germinate. You can try to speed up the process by carefully filing the seeds with a nail file or fine sandpaper before soaking them.
