Latin name: Trichorhina tomentosa

Danish name: White tropical woodlouse, dwarf white isopod

English name: Dwarf white isopod
The small white tropical woodlouse is an excellent feeder insect for smaller reptiles such as poison dart frogs and hatchlings of various geckos. However, they are also excellent "scavengers," and we keep them in almost all of our terrariums and enclosures where there is a bit of humidity. They like to hide in the soil and help break down almost all biological waste. They do, however, require an area with moist soil.
An interesting fact is that the species reproduces parthenogenetically (i.e., asexually), and only females of the species are reportedly known.
They can be slow to start and may therefore require a little time if you want to keep your own culture going.
